Watermain Breaks Today

Several Ward 33 residents are still without water today as the cold snap caused a significant number of breaks throughout the City. Crews have been on the scene all day and night since early yesterday morning. Three watermains in our area have been restored but the Pleasant View area is stilling waiting for service to be repaired. A number of emergency repair workers are out there now and calling our office regularly to report on progress. Feel free to call our office at 416-392-4038 to share issues surrounding this problem. Jennifer Daws and Jimmy Yin will keep up to date with Water Staff and can pass your issues along.

Ward Advisory council Back in Action!

After a long break at year-end, WAC33 (our local Ward Advisory Council) met last night at Fairview Mall Library. They have started plans for an exciting and informative year of meetings.

A major information session for all residents will come in April as WAC33 invites staff from the TTC and Go Transit, as well as other guests active in the Transit planning scene. They will discuss our transit services and present their long range visions for Toronto and the GTA.

At the meeting, the members put forward the need to broaden a TTC info night to the other players in the mass transit planning community. We all agreed that all are important since so much of our transportation challenge in Ward 33 comes from the massive numbers of GTA commuters who travel daily through our part of town. We will announce dates soon for the March meeting of WAC33, where I will present some background on the issues and some preparation for our April event where residents can question the experts. Stay tuned to this blog for confirmation of dates as soon as we confirm the line-up of guests.
