Citizen Appointments- Getting Involved

Now is the time to take a look at Citizen Appointment opportunities at the City of Toronto. There are many different agencies, boards and commissions that need your help. There is a particular need to make sure that there are enough young people over 18, women, and residents of diverse background included. But certainly all citizens who have time and experience to offer are welcomed heartily.

The City Clerks office takes charge of the whole Appointments Process to maintain fairness. They have posted ads in the local papers and there is information on the city website. Once the process begins, there are orientation sessions conducted where every applicant can come to learn about the various opportunities. While most roles are on a volunteer basis they provide an excellent chance to add a well-respected contribution to your resumes or list of personal accomplishments. I would be especially proud to see our part of the City represented.
